Alouettes 2008

Velvety and fresh, thoroughbred, it is nice and typical of the Loire Valley wine, to be drunk when it is young.

A very good value for money.

Beauvais 2007 *

The vineyard of Thierry Boucard, with limestone soil, has a reputation for making structured wines. This 2007 is like that. It has got an intense ruby color and a lot of candied fruits on the nose. The mouth is full, fat with a long finish, with a nice liveliness for a well-balanced wine. It is a wine with a lot of character which wait for some years in a cellar. in an other style, the cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2007 is overcome by sweet spices, the almond and the cherry. You can appreciate this wine in 2 or 3 years with prunes and rabbit.

In the La Chanteleuserie, "the place where the larks sing", the warbling doesn't trouble the winemaker' s work. They present this year two nice cuvées. The first is the archetype of a Bourgueil wine for keeping. Fresh and ripe fruits, it is a great range on the nose and on the palette. This range is very rich and has a very long finish which it comes back with fruits. A full-bodied wine for keeping for 1 or 2 years. The cuvée Beauvais, fruity and structured, gets one star too and will be a good wine for keeping.
